Ellen
Bayens (1977) received her first French horn lessons from Loek Paulissen in
1988
From 1999
to 2003 she studied at the Arnhem Conservatory with Stefan Blonk. After finishing
her studies in Arnhem she went to France for one
year, studying horn with Kevin Cleary and natural horn with Jerome Hanar at the
Conservatoire Regional de Strasbourg.
Back in the
Netherlands, Ellen studied
for two years in Rotterdam
with Martin van der Merwe and Bob Stoel, obtaining her master’s degree in 2007.
In
addition, she had master classes and lessons with Frøydis Ree Wekre, Daniel
Grabois, Ab Koster, Jindrich Petrášj and Peter Damm.
Ellen is
currently a member of the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
She has also
played as a substitute with many well-known orchestras, including the Rotterdam
Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra, the Amsterdam
Symphony Orchestra, the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and Holland
Symfonia.
